NOBLE NOSTRA GELO (FrancAngelo J.O.)
NOBLE NOSTRA GELO (FrancAngelo
J.O.)
How heart-torn we feel
That the one we’ve known
And called our own
Is really and truly gone!
How awe gripped we feel
That he that we conversed
with
And planned; and set our
rendezvous with
Is really no more!
Yes! He’s gone!
Gone to a land we know
not
Ah! That land of no
return or U-turn
We’ve heard of and wish
to go
—But wouldn’t go ‘cause
we’re not seen yet!
Or rather we’re not due
yet
‘Cause we’ve got things
to set
Read me or Rue it!
We’ve really and truly
—wished foregone?
Oh! That we may feel
And have a grip of
—Of that physique
Elegant though
That knows no bounds!
Ah! That we may touch
And hold unto you
Like never thought of
ever
With that firm grip
—That binds us all!
The eyes we see
We see no more,
The voice we hear
We hear no more!
The mimicry we cherished
And humour you flashed
Are all renewed over
More conspicuous than
ever!
***************************
Yes! The roof was here
To cover us from the
scourge
The walls were there too
To cover us —Our privy!
There was the door
To ease us our outlet
And the louvre —All
To make for nature’s
gift!
Blessed be the mattress
That bore us both
And your treasure —Her’s!
That left you ne’er —Nay!
************************
The night was deadened
And the clouds outright
darkened
The air was stilled
As the vacuum that was
left sealed!
The sky stayed starless
The moon just stood
unsure
But there was hope though
The luminous of the
Maker!
Ne’er would I have let
hold of you
If I knew I shall see you
nay!
Ne’er would I have let go
of you
If I knew I shall see you
nay!
Yes! That day was here
As surely as had been
there
The night was here too
And made ready for the
hour!
That monstrous night
—As deadened as though
was the depth
A night of all nights
—That meant your last
though unknown
Blessed be the hour
—That drew nigh with the
paean
And Benediction on your
forth journey!
************************************
But accursed be that hand
And souls of those
accomplices
Of he that was destined
To send you back packing
home!
Alas! Accursed be that
culprit
The mind and that heart
That was meant and rent
To snatch you from us
now!
Lo! You were here
Making ready already
To see to it
That you’ve set a pace!
And you were there
Putting things ready
That you may make fit
For things you’re setting
to place!
But the plotter was
plotting
To cut off your settings
And he was plodding
To checkmate your
fittings!
He struck! Doomed he!
—Except for providence’s
sake
And had you down
But was taken
All by his folly!
Alas! He struck!
Inside your own abode
After taking your sweat
Between wakefulness and
sleep!
Oh! Before you could see
The light of the new dawn
And with that gravy air
Then did he strike!
Ah! Sleep!
Why mete him such?
Seeing his limits
Would have done
otherwise!
Yes! You sleep!
Why mete us such?
Waking minutes earlier
Would have done it all!
But the Supreme let it be
To make you greater be
Though incomprehensive to
see
Has been destined by He!
For none has ever risen
So fit and masculine
given
And alert and fair gate risen
Yet, the Supreme let it
be!
Ne’er would there be any
risen
As formed as you’re given
To stand in your place
Or take to your face!
*************************
Oh! That I may wake
From this horrible
nightmare
Even the gay nightingale
Would fie a noble sigh!
Yes! That I may rise
From this hunting sleep
Oh! Though I’ve risen a
thousand times
—And waited for my Noble
Nostra’ sight
Ah! My heart —Can’t
believe
—Noble Nostra’ gone!
Yet, your figure is same
As though you were laid
And would wake as were asleep
Or stand from the sound
sleep!
*******************************
Rise! I say me from this
sleep
For really and truly
—Noble Nostra’ gone
Yes! He’s gone and won a
favour
Of seeing the heavenly
realms
—And beings longed for!
I say me: Arise and go on
—Your biddings
For he you’re looking for
hither
Had worn a crown before
you
And is there seeing to
your tidings!
—Good tidings!
************************************
Heigh ho! You’ve set
A pace for us to follow
And are resting in the
hollow
Of His hands!
Yes! You’ve gone
But gone in faith
To the realms of His
abode
To join the Celestial
Choirs
—To sing the unending
hymn!
And you shall be to us
As always as have been
A source of beatitude
To all minders and us!
For you’ve left a strong
minder
—To gouge
And have left a conscious
heart of hearts
—To mend
Ah! You’ve left a
powerful impression
—So great
On hearts —That are
indelible!
Your memory is ever
strong in us
We’ll all take you along
with us
That though you’re gone
—To Him
You’ll continue to live
with us!
And we’ll meet you again
When the hour be ripe
And we sing
—As one accord
Of melodies of ecstatic
joys!
Bravo faith!
Odds life!
